The lesson this week was full of details vast and extenuating.  The best synopsis comes by an example of the Sin Offering applied to today’s context.  We have learned Jesus, the Sin Offering, covers unknown sins, and I point to a metaphor of clarity.  The Burnt Offering for premeditated sins can likewise have secondary meaning in the analogy.  Dovetailing both, EG White calls the sin of slavery the sin of the darkest dye.  She said,

“…God is punishing the North, that they have so long suffered the accursed sin of slavery to exist; for in the sight of heaven it is a sin of the darkest dye. God is not with the South, and He will punish them dreadfully in the end.” EGW, 5T, 359

The orbit of dispute revolves around the claim, “I did not know that slavery was so abhorrent to God” —implying redemption by lack of knowledge.  Can Jesus’ sacrifice redeem them?  Or in foreknowledge, do they need the burnt offering?  Clarification was scheduled to come, “in the end” —hence her promise of the Lord’s dreadful punishment today.

In sum of the metaphor, all advocates for the MAGA Republican Movement were actual advocates for the Confederacy and the embrace of Slavery, the sin of the darkest dye.  But knowing the charge of the sin allows for perfect clarity by use of Jesus’ shed blood:  Problem is, the identity of Jesus has been mystified in the world.  Until the MSA’s teachings to Adventists, all have used the Catholic model of Jesus claiming that He is both Christ and God.  Thus, to deny His clarified personage as revealed today is to claim an alternate Sin Offering; ergo, His blood cannot be applicable to Adventist men who refuse the light now blazing from Scripture.  Their claim of ignorance then becomes a moot point.  The Sin Offering becomes likened unto a foreign currency in a wrong vending machine— a futile exercise of inefficacy.

To meditate further, non-Adventist, those not having the benefit of the MSA light, demand a different analysis.  Simply put for now, by their vote for the Confederate flag and their laudations of Donald Trump, Charlie Kirk, Mike Johnson, et al, men of vitriolic and evil hearts, men who advocated for White Supremacy, becomes a recorded vote for the endorsement of tyranny against the sons of America’s former slaves, aka —not the Jews but— Jerusalem, the Burnt Offering. The Sin Offering cannot help them either, though they be non-Adventists, for both the Sin and the Burnt Offering are prerequisites to pass the judgment.  Ergo we have EG White’s declaration that the Lord will punish them dreadfully in the end.

This “short” does not say it all; however, it provides parameter and an arena for your meditations to understand Atonement and Amazingly Sufficient Grace.

Derek.
