No mistake, there was a true rite of Jewish pride, but it was vested in the house of David, the highest of all Jews, just as recorded in “ 2Chron 21: 5-7Jehoram reigned eight years in Jerusalem. 6 … and he wrought that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD. 7 Howbeit the LORD would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever.” —2Chron 21: 5-7. Clearly then, the simple fact of being a Jew could not win God’s favor. This made evident by Jehoram, a bonified Jewish king; he was banished. All honor then was deemed to be a microscopic gratuity. The Lord never vested any concept of existential preservation in the macroscopic conglomeration of Jews. Yet, 2Chron 21 refines the honor of Jewish grace: it was God’s transmission of light, education, through David’s posterity: From David to Solomon, then the grandson, Rehobaom, then Abijah and beyond 100 generations forward to the mustard seed today…
