The Lord replied, “…What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.” —John 13: 7. Only today have we arrived at that promised day of knowledge; it is expressed by the Mustard Seed. Feet washing obviously infers a symbolic meaning for otherwise, if it was literal there was/is absolutely no complexity of comprehension imaginable to befuddle the original 12 disciples. Today, in the time that we are promised to know “hereafter”, feet washing refers to a cleansing from the tarnished path of our journey, our 1844 humiliation which has stained our feet. Embarrassed, we cover them with our socks and shoes. To cleanse our feet then, those coverings must be removed…
