Isaiah 11: 1-4
Excerpt:…So to be more specific, it is the day of Equity in the earth. Meekness comes with the advocacy of freedom and not the proliferation of oppression by the wealthy and empowered. And this is the central message of the Angel of the Lord as it has been revealed to him by Christ and next has been commissioned by the Comforter to Zechariah that he, Zechariah may cry yet for Jerusalem’s freedom and for the feet of Zion to be cleansed from her embarrassment. But doubt no longer, this exultation comes not by Jesus who is the root of Jesse but from David, who is the branch that has grown out of Jesse’s roots, out of Christianity. For harmony of clarity I point you to the day of its promise expressed in Isa 11. It gives a wrap to the theme of our series, Prophetic office Elucidation, and I quote: “ 1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2 And —not the Lord but— the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; 3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: 4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.” —Isaiah 11: 1-4. They stand together no longer in the dark lowland amidst the Myrtle trees. But unlike 1844, the branch is made of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord. He knows the full panorama of the judgment in all its magnified reverberations. He thereby judges equitably for the poor and the meek of the earth. Who are the meek? They certainly are not the confederate flag waiving advocates of MAGA Republicans. For Paul defined those lost souls to be the opposite of meek: They are highminded targets to receive the severity of God, the severity which was heaped upon Jerusalem, severity that they were commanded to behold and yet refused…
