Deut 18: 15-19
Excerpt:…Setting the scene: Christ miraculously rescued them from bondage, and having crossed the Red Sea, He sought communion by directly revealing His glory to Israel from Mt Sinai. But, as if an alien from outer space, Israel was horrified by the experience. Their eyes hated their vision of the coming of their Lord, and, cowered by His voice, the church’s national hymn became the opposite of America’s Battle Hymn theme: They demanded of the Lord that He never again speak to the church directly but ventriloquially through Moses. Surprisingly the Lord was not offended: And by installing a new law of accommodation, He joyously amended the covenant. Moses, in Deut 18 gave to the church the meeting minutes of the Lord’s amendment in “ Deut 18: 15-19 he said, The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; 16 According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. 17 And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken. 18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. 19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.” —Deut 18: 15-19. This eternally ensconced an inviolable communication colloquy between Christ and His church, that can’t be abrogated. I know that 3500 years of history can fade a commitment, but be not stupid: Man’s time paradigm cannot efface God’s honor….
