Eph 4: 11-14

Excerpt:…As we now see, prophetic authenticity is a lift bringing one closer to Christ by their work. And this finding is in harmony with the law of prophets stated in Duet 18. Any teacher of Bible doctrine can be cross examined. Paul affirms by the following claim: “ 11 …he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine…” —Eph 4: 11-14. Why were the gentiles given apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers , we must immediately ask? The answer from Paul is clear: for the edification and perfection of the body of Christ. Is this any different than is the booster rocket metaphor and analysis of the MSC? Paul’s articulated gifts were intended to lift us up unto unity. This being the case, then evidently, since we are not yet unified, these gifts must still be in vogue…
