Isa 55: 1-4

 

Excerpt:…No other teaching has a historic record of resurrection or healing. Their cloaks of piety —their chanting and meditations, their daily, forced prayer rituals— now are exposed as vanity! To follow them is akin to purchasing a used car without warranty or inspection! The Lord said as much in Isaiah, “ Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters …yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. 2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. 3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. 4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.” —Isa 55: 1-4. “Come to the water”, this expression should remind us of Jesus’ first miracle: He turned water into wine. The 2000 years since has become the aging process of its fermentation. Thus, Christians have become delightfully intoxicated. Until now, we have no other theology to lift our spirits; so none dare heckle the historic Christian faith by use of their opposing unglamorous themes, their vinegar of alternate theology, that which satisfieth not. Their gurus, Popes, scholars and Imams etc, can point to no other uplifting, historic record of healing or resurrection: they don’t even give promise today for as much. But today, Jesus’ words are again raised in clarity by David who offers without price the Lord’s new wine: this declared by new disciples, or new bottles…
