Isa 58: 1-8.

Thus, to embrace Israel requires a heart transformation superior to a fast or diet that is limited to fruits, nuts, and grains. Such is the real menace to Adventism! But the reward is greater: For rather than tear-soaked Adventist funerals: The mission is life and health or “translation” without a suspension in the grave. Both EGW and VTH, unwittingly acknowledge as much by their citation of the following text: “ Isa 58: 1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins… 3 Wherefore have we fasted (with vegetarianism), say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? … 6 Is not this the fast that I (Christ) have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness … and that ye break every yoke?… 7and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house. 8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily:” —Isa 58: 1, 3, 6-8.  EG White in several places pointed us to this affirmative action plan for Jerusalem.
