Micah 1:1-5,9

Excerpt:…And since it is also a prophecy —and few, if any, ever seek to parse the difference between prophecy and typology— why must we now integrate it into SDA evangelism? Prophecy, we have been taught, is the acid test. But this is a prophecy combined within a metaphor or a typology, and, since we do not even have confidence about the real existence of the Holy Spirit, why shan’t we just do what we have always done and relegate this theme to the trash heap of meaningless banter? The answer is, We should zealously embrace this study because Christ has commanded that it become part of our gospel. For nearly 45 years, the MSA has tussled over Adventist doctrines but has taught to no other Christian affiliations: therein it absorbed the three blows of Balaam, the blow against VTH, against MJB, and the blow against the MSC. Now Micah-six anoints the MSA as the reformed Balaam with a new target audience. As we read Micah, notice the adverb, “now”. “ 1 Hear ye now what the LORD saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice. 2 Hear ye, O mountains, the LORD’s controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD hath a controversy with his (Adventist) people, and he will plead with Israel. 3 O my people (Israel) … 4 … I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt … 5 … remember now what BALAK KING OF MOAB consulted, and what BALAAM THE SON OF BEOR answered him … that ye may know the righteousness of the LORD… 9 The LORD’s voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.” —Mic 6: 1-5, 9. This message of Micah six is riveting! Perceptive and inspired minds must now integrate Christ’s righteousness by the new dispatch to the man of Wisdom: (lingering screen) He must arise to educate the mountains. Can you believe it: the Lord even puts a name on this new commission: He calls it, the Rod. But more than that, the very theme of our study has, by this Text of Micah six, surfaced to become one of the rivets in the Ba-láamic play. Eureka, we have found the Bible license of credence to give the relevancy of that drama. The mandate to rise is proof that my ministry has beforehand been squelched, seated, and suppressed —not by the devil but— by the Holy Spirits restricted, albeit concealed power to block the progress of Balaam’s Adventist’s Ass: our study title…
