Zech 1: 12-13

 

Excerpt:Zechariah shows that He and Jesus speak to each other; thus, to suggest that they are the same person infers upon God, mental derangement. So we ask, Why do Historic Adventists teach that Jesus, Christ, and the Holy Spirit are one and the same personality —even in the face of contradictory Bible evidence? They do so to preclude more 1844-styled embarrassment. Rather than guarding God’s reputation, they make Him —not themselves— to appear deranged. Zech 1 begins to say, “12 Then the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem … which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years? 13 And the LORD answered the angel that talked with me with good words and comfortable words.” —Zech 1: 12-13. More of this text will be unfolded in this study, but first know that someone called the Angel of the Lord speaks to another personality called the Lord of hosts. Lest you be confused, the person called the Angel of the Lord could be none other than the Holy Spirit: this by virtue that He receives all truth from the primary Agent of God, Christ, that He may guide the Church in all truth…
